Monthly nutrition workshops where you get to ask the questions you’ve been sitting on

Interactive group nutrition workshops hosted by the registered dietitians of Functional Nutrition Rx — covered by insurance for existing clients, and open to everyone.

Is soy bad for me?

Why am I so tired?

You’ve read the blog posts and followed the accounts, but you still walk away wondering what it means for you specifically.

That’s the problem with one-way health education. It’s designed for a general audience. Our monthly group nutrition seminars are designed to fix that.

Every month, our registered dietitians host live, interactive group sessions on nutrition topics our clients actually care about: hormone health, gut healing, blood sugar balance, the latest dietary guidelines, navigating GLP-1 medications, and more. You can come on camera, unmute, and ask the things you’ve been wondering about.

Think of it as having access to a room full of clinical nutrition expertise, without the appointment price tag.

Our seminars usually have 20 to 30 attendees. We love the conversational format, as it brings out questions that don’t always come up in individual appointments!

Topics rotate every month based on what our community is dealing with, asking about, and what’s timely.

Past and upcoming seminar topics have included:

  • The latest U.S. dietary guidelines — what changed and what it means for you
  • Hormone health and nutrition for women at every life stage
  • Gut health fundamentals — what your microbiome is doing and how to support it
  • Blood sugar balance without obsessing over every bite
  • Collagen, joint health, and what the research says
  • Navigating GLP-1 medications — nutrition strategies that make them work better
  • Eating for energy — why you’re still tired and what food has to do with it
  • Anti-inflammatory eating — beyond the buzzword
  • Understanding your lab results — what to ask your doctor and what to do about it

Here’s what to expect at our seminars

01

Live and interactive

Each session is led by one of our registered dietitian nutritionists and includes a presentation portion followed by open Q&A — where you can come off mute, ask your questions directly, and get a response from a credentialed clinician in real time. We actively encourage participation. The more questions, the better.

02

Free to attend

Our seminars are covered by insurance. For new and existing Functional Nutrition Rx clients, sessions are typically covered by insurance as group medical nutrition therapy — check with our office for details on your specific plan.

03

Virtual and accessible

All sessions are held via Zoom, which means you can join from anywhere — your living room, your office, your car if necessary. No commute, no parking, no childcare scramble required. Can’t make the live session? We will send out the recording after the seminar.

Nutrition education is one of the most effective things we offer, and one of the most underutilized tools in healthcare.

The more you understand about how your body works and how food affects it, the better equipped you are to make decisions that support your health.

We also know that not everyone is ready to book a one-on-one appointment. Maybe you’re not sure what you need yet. Maybe you want to get a feel for who we are and how we think before committing to working with us. Maybe you just want the information without the clinical structure.

All of that is completely valid. Come to a seminar. Get to know us. Ask your questions. And when you’re ready for more, we’ll be here.

  • What I love most is how these seminars have genuinely encouraged me to eat what is right for my body and stay consistent—I feel more motivated and committed after each one. Being able to join from home makes it easy and comfortable, and I really value the chance to ask questions and get clear answers.

  • The level of support, from the dietitians as well as the other participants, is unmatched.  Through each program, I have learned so much about eating healthy, staying hydrated, and keeping fit.  The tips and resources shared are easy to follow and manageable even for busy schedules like mine.

  • During the virtual seminar, I was blown away by how clear, practical, and relatable everything was. After implementing what I learned, my energy has noticeably improved, my cravings are more balanced, and I finally feel more in control of my body. It’s been a game changer for my confidence and overall health.

FAQ

Are the seminars really free? Yes — our group nutrition seminars are free and open to the public. Sessions are typically billed through insurance as group medical nutrition therapy, which means they are covered at no cost to you. Contact our office if you have questions about coverage.

Do I have to be a patient or client to attend? Not at all. Our seminars are open to anyone who wants to learn. You don’t need to be an existing client, have a referral, or have any specific health condition. Just show up and bring your questions.

How do I know which seminar topic is right for me? Honestly? Just come to the next one. Every topic we cover has relevance across a broad range of health concerns — and the Q&A portion means that even if the main topic isn’t your primary concern, you can ask about what is. Over time, attending multiple sessions gives you a much richer foundation of nutritional knowledge than any single appointment could.

Can I ask questions about my personal health situation? You’re welcome to ask general questions during the Q&A portion of our seminars. For questions that require reviewing your specific health history, labs, or symptoms, we’ll always recommend booking a one-on-one appointment where we can give you the individualized attention those questions deserve.

How often are seminars held? At least once a month, and sometimes twice. The schedule varies — which is exactly why we recommend getting on our email list so you never miss one.
